Assistant Director
Hello!
You could say my journey as an educator began at Skyview in 2012 as the school’s first (and only) celebration aide. I bounced from room to room helping teachers hang black fabric, made a Harris hawk out of chicken wire, painted a 4 foot tall paper mache heart, and helped kids felt organs in first grade. I told my mom anyone that decided to be a teacher here was out of their mind, the level of work required to pull off celebrations and the level of learning at Skyview was tremendous. Then, I promptly finished my degree in elementary education and became one of “those teachers” who was out of their mind… and I LOVED IT!
I taught third and fourth grade for seven years, and as I became more confident in my abilities as a teacher, I found that my niche was learning how to reflect on my practices as a teacher and find ways to improve. Every year was a little different, and a little better. In 2021 I took a break from teaching to be at home with my son, Crosby. During this time, I got my Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction and came back to Skyview part time in a role where I was able to support our administration and teachers.
I look forward to being of service to the teachers, students and greater Skyview community as I embark on my new journey as Assistant Director.
